Nikolai Tcherepnin (1873 - 1945)

A pupil of Rimsky-Korsakov in St Petersburg, Nikolai Tcherepnin won an early reputation in Russia as a pianist, conductor and composer. He settled in Paris in 1921 but was able to continue the Russian tradition of composition in which he had been trained.
