Edward Han Jiang undertook undergraduate studies at the Central Conservatory of Music, China, and postgraduate studies at the University of British Columbia, Canada. He is currently the president of the Pacific Rim International Music and Education Society.
As a pianist, his expansive pianistic technique is demonstrated through his eclectic repertoire, and he is especially adept at performing late-Romantic and Chinese piano music, with his discography spanning albums and audio-visual releases. In demand as both a performer and adjudicator, he has given concerts and masterclasses in Vancouver, Beijing and Guangzhou.
As a composer, Han Jiang’s music covers a broad range of genres, including soundtracks, art music, songs and symphonies. His musical voice explores both the culture of his upbringing in China and his current home, the rainforests of British Columbia on Canada’s west coast.
He has received commissions from the China Youth Symphony Orchestra, written chamber music for Ablaze Records, and has provided numerous works for the latest syllabus of the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM), also serving as composer for the RCM Celebration Series®.
His works have been performed widely, most recently in Beijing, Guangzhou, Vancouver, New York, Lucca and Taipei.
