Martin David Jones enjoys a multifaceted career as an award-winning classical and jazz pianist, composer, and conductor.
As a pianist, he has appeared at major musical centres including Lincoln Center in New York, the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., the Dame Myra Hess Recital Series in Chicago, Piccolo Spoleto in Charleston, Spivey Hall in Atlanta, and the Gindi Auditorium in Los Angeles.
He has given the world premieres of works by Libby Larsen, Michael Nathaniel Hersch, and the Washington premiere of China Gates by John Adams.
As a composer, Jones has written successfully in many genres, and his works have been performed by various ensembles and musicians, including jazz great Wycliffe Gordon.
Jones holds Master and Doctoral degrees from Peabody Conservatory as well as a Bachelor of Music degree summa cum laude from California State University, Northridge. Jones is Professor of Music at Augusta University in Georgia where he teaches piano and composition and was the director of the university orchestra for twelve years.
