Tatjana Blome

As a twelve-year-old Tatjana Blome won first prize in the Steinway Competition and a year later gave her first evening recital. In 1995 she made her début in the Berlin Philharmonie with Brahms’s Piano Concerto No. 1. Until she was fourteen she was taught by her father, Josef-Matthias Blome, followed by studies in Detmold with Renate Kretschmar-Fischer, in Berlin with Heidrun Holtmann and Aribert Reimann and in Munich in masterclasses with Gerhard Oppitz. At the same time she also studied German and Theology. Her career has brought performances throughout Europe, with recitals in Austria, France, Slovenia, Portugal and Russia and appearances as a soloist with various orchestras. In Germany she appears regularly with orchestras including the Dortmund Philharmonic, the Göttingen Symphony, the Trier Philharmonic, the Jena Philharmonic, the South-Westphalian Philharmonic, the Bergisch Symphony Orchestra and the Berlin Chamber Symphony Orchestra. Tatjana Blome regularly appears as a Lieder accompanist with Dietrich Henschel and Elvira Hasanagic, and as a duo partner of the saxophonist Frank Lunte and the violinist Elisabeth Glass. She is also a member of the Classic Chamber Ensemble of the Berlin Deutsche Oper. She has recorded over fifty works for companies including Deutsche Grammophon, EDA and Naxos and for radio. In 2007 Deutsche Grammophon relaxed her first recording of works by Gerhard Frommel, in 2010 DSS released her recording with the Ljubjana Radio Orchestra of Marco Mihevce’s Piano Concerto and in 2012 Grand Piano released her recording of Gerhard Frommel’s Piano Sonatas Nos. 1–3.
